Exhibitions

Gallery Freedom has over the years been designing events & executing collaborative projects with visual artists and other creative people of the country. The gallery has organised many artists’ camps, retreats, workshops and exhibitions, with the multifold purpose of engendering meaningful interactive encounters between creative individuals and underprivileged communities, between creative people of different disciplines, between artists and the uninitiated as well as for generating resources for various social causes addressed by VHAI It is an effort that goes beyond the commercial aspects of art.

A Retrospective of Arup Das Painting

A retrospective of paintings of famous painter Arup Das were put together by Gallery Freedom alongwith Ms. HaimantiSen, daughter of Arup Das. The show was organized at Gallery Freedom from 14th April to 10 May 2016. Mr. Nirensen Gupta inaugurated the show.

In the most complex of Arup Das’s works there is a living and individual element. The artist brings to intensity and yet peace, feelings and energies from all over the body.

He turns very detail into a bit of visual suspense and then to resolve the whole up-roar into a bit of melody, into the formal and balanced figure of a pictorial melody.

Aparajita-The Indomitable Spirit of Woman

Triggered by enthusiasm to promote the cause of the girl child, Gallery Freedom in collaboration with VHAI had organized an exhibition at India Habitat Center, New Delhi from 28 August – 1st September 2015.

This effort was a step forward towards sensitizing the public on this important social issue by making use of our rich and diverse cultural heritage.

Handpicked works of the masters, whose creations the art fraternity has always welcomed with open arms, have joined the cause and offered their much loved masterpieces to augment the gallery effort.

Such a unique showcasing of art, under a single roof has historic reverberations. As masters’ works are usually confined to retrospectives and one-man shows, this high end conglomerate of artistry open to the general public, where several master works are to be viewed under a single roof, goes a long way in demonstrating art trends across different eras as well as the growth and distinct periods of creativity in individual master artists’ career spans

We created a platform for the concerned respected creative minds of the country to address this critical and challenging social agenda. The resources and public awareness generated from this event and future events all over the country will go to strengthen the organizations working for this cause, throughout the country.
