Born 1947 in Calcutta, Shuva graduated from the Indian College of Art, Kolkata and received his subsequent training in printmaking at workshops including those in USA and Germany. An active member of the Calcutta Painters? Group, Shuva is a teacher, facilitator and painter all in one. His work has been exhibited in over 30 solo shows and many more group exhibitions in India and abroad including those held at the Birla Academy Calcutta, Gallery Les Hirondelles Geneva, Sotheby?s and Arts India New York, Christies London and IGNCA New Delhi. He has also participated in a number of international projects, workshops and art camps, more important amongst which are the Museum of Modern Art, Sitomo, Japan; Horniman Museum London and the German Festival in India. He has a number of awards and publications to his credit including the AIFACS, State LKA and Birla Academy Awards. His work can be seen in many public and private collections in India and abroad including the NGMA and LKA, Delhi; Air India; Times of India Group and WHO Geneva. Shuva lives and works in Kolkata.
